The <\/span>German<\/span> standard <\/span>for <\/span>vehicle<\/span> transport<\/span> safety<\/span>, VDI 2700 parts 8.1 and 8.2<\/span><\/strong>, <\/span>was<\/span> officially<\/span> published<\/span> on 1 <\/span>September<\/span> 2024.
<\/span>This<\/span> regulation<\/span> applies<\/span> to <\/span>all<\/span> vehicle<\/span> transporters<\/span> operating<\/span> or <\/span>transiting<\/span> through<\/span> German<\/span> territory<\/span>, <\/span>regardless<\/span> of <\/span>their<\/span> country of <\/span>registration<\/span>. To <\/span>comply<\/span>, <\/span>vehicles<\/span> and <\/span>their<\/span> load <\/span>securing<\/span> systems must be <\/span>verified<\/span> and certified <\/span>as<\/span> compliant<\/span>.
<\/span>ROLFO<\/strong> <\/span>has<\/span> been<\/span> an <\/span>active<\/span> contributor to the <\/span>working<\/span> group <\/span>responsible<\/span> for <\/span>drafting<\/span> the standard and <\/span>is<\/span> fully<\/span> prepared<\/span> to support <\/span>you<\/span> through<\/span> the <\/span>certification<\/span> process<\/span>\u2014<\/span>ensuring<\/span> your<\/span> vehicle<\/span> avoids<\/span> load <\/span>restrictions<\/span> imposed<\/span> by customers or <\/span>law<\/span> enforcement <\/span>authorities<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>

Certification<\/span> Requirements<\/span> According<\/span> to the new standard, <\/span>certification<\/span> from the car <\/span>transporter<\/span> manufacturer<\/span> can <\/span>only<\/span> be <\/span>issued<\/span> when<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>

  1. The <\/span>vehicle<\/span> has<\/span> been<\/span> inspected<\/span> in <\/span>accordance<\/span> with the “<\/span>Assessment<\/span> to Standard VDI 2700″ and the <\/span>completed<\/span> inspection<\/span> report <\/span>has<\/span> been<\/span> returned<\/span> to Rolfo<\/span><\/strong>

  2. The <\/span>invoice<\/span> for the service <\/span>has<\/span> been<\/span> paid<\/span> in full<\/span><\/strong>

    Using <\/span>your<\/span> credentials<\/span>, <\/span>you<\/span> can access the <\/span>dedicated<\/span> page and <\/span>request<\/span> certification<\/span> for <\/span>your<\/span> vehicle<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>

    If<\/span> you<\/span> do <\/span>not<\/span> yet<\/span> have<\/span> credentials<\/span>, <\/span>you<\/span> can <\/span>request<\/span> them<\/span> by <\/span>emailing<\/span>:

    <\/p>

    The standard <\/span>also<\/span> includes<\/span> load <\/span>securing<\/span> elements<\/span> such<\/span> as<\/span> wedges and straps. ROLFO<\/strong> <\/span>is<\/span> ready to supply certified <\/span>components<\/span> with appropriate lead times.<\/span><\/p>

    Currently<\/span>, ROLFO<\/strong> can <\/span>certify<\/span> the <\/span>majority<\/span> of <\/span>its<\/span> models <\/span>produced<\/span> from 2012 <\/span>onward<\/span>. <\/span>If<\/span> your<\/span> vehicle<\/span> is<\/span> not<\/span> listed<\/span>, <\/span>please<\/span> contact<\/span> us<\/span> at:

    The <\/span>verification<\/span> process<\/span> can be <\/span>initiated<\/span> in <\/span>advance<\/span>. To support <\/span>this<\/span>, ROLFO<\/strong> <\/span>has<\/span> prepared<\/span> a <\/span>dedicated<\/span> document<\/span> to guide <\/span>you<\/span> through<\/span> the <\/span>required<\/span> checks (<\/span>Assessment<\/span> to Standard VDI 2700) and help <\/span>you<\/span> compile the <\/span>inspection<\/span> report to be <\/span>submitted<\/span> to Rolfo Customer Care. <\/span>These<\/span> checks can be <\/span>performed<\/span> independently<\/span> or <\/span>through<\/span> accredited<\/span> bodies.
